Can a portable power station run a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft)?
Yes. All 15 portable power stations we track can run a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft), for about 9.2 h (EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus) to 4.8 days (Anker SOLIX F3800) on a full charge.

How these runtimes are calculated: runtime = usable capacity ÷ average draw of 25 W (running draw is 75 W, but a compressor cycles on and off, so the daily energy use averages lower). Usable capacity is an independent test's measured figure, or 80% of rated capacity where none exists, marked "(est.)". A model must also carry the running watts continuously and the startup peak within its surge rating. The same formula applies to every model; see the methodology.
Light load: at 25 W the station's own consumption matters, so expect less than shown, especially overnight. Independently measured idle draw (AC inverter on, nothing plugged in): EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic 17 W, Anker SOLIX S2000 2.7 W, EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max 13.6 W, Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 18 W. Using a DC or USB output instead of the AC inverter, where your device allows it, avoids most of this loss.

What size do you need?
What size power station do I need for a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft)?
Look for at least 75 W of continuous AC output and 500 W of surge. For capacity, a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft) averages about 25 W, so 8 hours needs roughly 250 Wh of rated capacity and 24 hours roughly 750 Wh, assuming 80% of rated capacity reaches the outlets.
How long will a 1,000 Wh power station run a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft)?
About 32 h for a generic 1,000 Wh unit, if its inverter can handle the 500 W startup surge: roughly 800 Wh (80% of rated) reaches the outlets, divided by an average draw of 25 W. Measured models of this size vary; see the table above.
Which power station can run a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft) for a full day?
Of the 15 models we track, the smallest that runs a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft) for 24 hours on one charge is the DJI Power 1000. Larger models run it longer; see the table above.
What a mini fridge (compact, ~3 cu ft) draws
| Running watts | 75 W[source]Midpoint of Champion's 50-100 W 'Mini fridge/cooler' running range. |
|---|---|
| Startup (surge) watts | 500 W[source]Midpoint of Champion's 400-600 W 'Mini fridge/cooler' starting range (compressor start). |
| Energy per day | 0.6 kWh[source]Median annual energy use of the 700 ENERGY STAR certified compact refrigerators with 2.5-3.5 cu ft total volume in EPA's certified-refrigerators data set, retrieved 2026-10-18: 220 kWh/year, converted to 220 / 365 = 0.6 kWh/day. Middle half: 215-260 kWh/year (0.59-0.71 kWh/day). |
| Average draw used above | 25 W |
| Voltage | 120 V |
Compressor cycles on and off, so daily energy is used for runtime rather than running watts.
